What You Can Expect if You Require Custom Orthotics

  1. We begin with a full assessment of your feet, gait, and posture. A biomechanical exam along with a review of symptoms provides the basis for developing a treatment plan that may include orthotics.

  2. Next, we use 3D scanning or casting to capture the exact shape of your feet.  This results in a ‘true’ custom made foot orthoses.  Plaster of Paris impressions are still used in the case of certain deformities, if deemed necessary by the Chiropodist.

  3. Your orthotics are then custom-made to match your needs and footwear.

  4. Once the orthotics are received at the clinic, an Orthotic Fitting appointment is scheduled where the orthotics are fitted in your footwear and opportunity to test the orthotics and assess fit and comfort.

  5. Orthotic Follow-ups are provided, at no additional charge, for a period of 3-months.

  6. Orthotics are warrantied against defects and breakage for a period of 6-months.

How Orthotics are Made?

All information collected at your appointment including biomechanical assessments and scans are combined and provided to our orthotics laboratory for manufacturing.

Once the orthotics have been manufactured and arrive at our clinic, they are checked by the Chiropodist for quality assurance purposes and modifications made as required prior to booking an orthotic fitting appointment.

Types of Custom Orthotics

Rigid Orthotics (Custom Orthotic Inserts)

Crafted from durable materials like plastic or carbon fiber, rigid orthotics are designed to improve foot alignment and control abnormal motion. They are ideal for walking or dress shoes and can help relieve pain in the legs, hips, and lower back caused by poor foot mechanics.

Soft Orthotics (Orthotic Insoles for Diabetic & Sensitive Feet)

These cushioned insoles provide excellent shock absorption and pressure relief. Soft orthotics are often recommended for individuals with diabetes, arthritis, or sensitive feet to protect skin, improve balance, and provide all-day comfort

Semi-Rigid Orthotics (Custom Orthotic Shoes for Activity & Sport)

A blend of structure and flexibility, semi-rigid orthotics are ideal for active individuals and children. They offer support for sports, daily movement, and are often used to correct gait issues and foot instability.
