Your first visit to Advanced Foot & Orthotic Clinic establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you.

During the first visit to AFOC, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your chiropodist.


You can even save some time at your first visit by printing out and completing the patient forms in advance of your appointment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the Chiropodist has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling. Educate yourself on your symptoms by reviewing the content on this website. Also, take some time to review our staff page and familiarize yourself with the Chiropodist. We look forward to your first visit.

INSURANCE

Chiropody services are not covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), however, many extended health insurance carriers provide coverage for these services.  Advanced Foot & Orthotic Clinic does not direct bill to third-party insurance carriers and therefore you are encouraged to contact your carrier regarding coverage and reimbursement prior to your appointment. 

Direct billing is available to patients registered with The Department of Veterans Affairs, Non-Insured Health Benefits and Workplace Safety Insurance Board and Ontario Disability Support Program.  Prior approval from these agencies is mandatory for any direct billing. 

CANCELLATION, LATE, AND NO SHOW

Life can be busy and unforeseen circumstances can impact you getting to your appointment and therefore we understand when these occur. However, we operate a busy clinic and attendance is expected as missed appointments impact the clinic and other clients waiting for appointments.

Cancellations:

We require 2 business days notice before the appointment time, to cancel scheduled appointments. The reason for cancellation will be documented in the client’s chart.

 

Late:

If a client arrives late for an appointment, we will try our best to accommodate in our schedule.   Depending on circumstance, the appointment may need to be rescheduled for a later day or time in order to maintain clinic flow and not cause delay to other clients. 

Clients will be charged for the full appointment even if they only receive partial treatment due to late arrival. 

No Show:

A return appointment will be scheduled during your visit as required by the treatment plan.  Our clinic provides a courtesy reminder call two days prior to your visit.  This is a courtesy only and your appointment is considered confirmed at the time of booking. 

New patients and return clients who no show for appointments may be required to prepay in order to rebook their next appointment. This is determined on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of the Chiropodist.
