Q. What is Plantar Fasciitis?

A: Plantar Fasciitis (PLAN-ter fash-ee_EYE-tus) is one of the more common causes of heel pain. It occurs when the Plantar Fascia, the ligament that connects your heel bone to your toes and supports your arch, becomes strained, swollen and/ or irritated.

Heel pain, caused by Plantar Fasciitis, can show as a stabbing or burning pain on the inside area of the heel. Pain is normally more prevalent in the morning but can continue throughout the day. Long periods of standing or walking up and down stairs can also cause pain and discomfort.

If you have pain in your heels there is help. The longer the problem is left unattended, the worse it will get and the harder it will be to recover from. We are able to treat Plantar Fasciitis comfortably and effectively.

For a complete assessment and treatment plan of your heel pain call the Advanced Foot & Orthotic Clinic today to book your appointment
